Medworks has no intentions of using your contact information for wicked purposes. When you register, you will be asked if you want to subscribe to the "newsletter". Yeah, there is no newsletter. That is just built into the oscommerce program - oscommerce by the way is the operating system that runs the shopping cart. So if you send us a check, DO NOT make it out to "oscommerce", make it out to Medworks or Medwork Instruments, making it out to oscommerce is a bit like, say, buying a computer and making the check out to Windows. Not even Microsoft, but just "Windows". You will be automatically sent an e-mail when you register, and you will be automatically sent an e-mail when you place an order, and you will be automatically sent an e-mail every time the order status is updated, but do not freak out at this, you are not on some spam list, that is the full extent of the e-mails you will get from us. If we spam you, it will be the old fashioned way - we will send you a postcard. It is foreseeable that we will send an e-mail to everyone if there is some extremely important point of news, like "Medworks has moved", or "Medworks has gone bankrupt", or "Medworks is back in business", or "Medworks has conquered the world and you must pay taxes to us". That last one is not too likely. When you buy with a credit card, we do NOT see the card number. It goes directly to the credit card company. This means that even if a hacker broke in to steal our database, true, he would find your name and address, and that could be annoying, but at least not your credit card information. We occasionally accept payscum (oops, I mean "pal") to people who are excessively concerned about giving out their credit cards online to anyone else, or people who just cannot get the system to approve their cards for whatever reason, but we may charge you an additional fee since paycrud charges a higher percentage than the regular processing company. |
