How Airtight is YOUR Stethoscope? Take this test and see. Turn the chestpiece so that you enable the bell (hole is under bell opening). Connect the stethoscope to your ears. Put one finger over the chestpiece bell hole to seal it. Lightly press on the diaphragm. Do you feel pressure in your ears when you press on the diaphragm? If you don't, the stethoscope is leaky. You should feel the pressure. Only when the air has nowhere else to go will it build up pressure in your ears.
A
very interesting and useful site to learn more about what is important
in a stethoscope is: http://www.stethoscope-guide.com/
BUT be aware the ads on the site are PAID advertisements and are not
endorsements by the consumer group writing the informative copy. We,
being a small and barely profitable company, don't have nice big fancy
ads. OR HAD YOU NOTICED THIS? We have been doing business for 35 years
and are registered with the FDA and we stand
behind our stethoscopes 100%
