These American made tuning forks are for vibration testing. They are professional grade forks, weighted and individually tuned. Each fork has been carefully hand smoothed on the ends to have a smoothed edge. If you have seen extra-long unweighted forks with these frequencies you have seen "student grade".  Professional grade means they are of the highest quality aluminum alloy. A complete set of these forks can be seen in the Smithsonian in Washington D.C.

The number refers to the number of vibrations per second. The higher the number the higher the "pitch".  C128 is for vibration ONLY. C256 is for both hearing and vibration testing.
